Charlotte Named Finalist for 2012 Democratic National Convention

This week we received word that Charlotte was named one of four finalists to host the 2012 Democratic National Convention, competing against Cleveland, OH; St. Louis, MO; and Minneapolis, MN.

North Carolina Democrats are honored that our very own Queen City is among the final four. The selection of Charlotte as a finalist shows that North Carolina continues to be a key battleground state and will be one of the most important states on the political map in 2012.

In addition to bragging rights, the economic impact could tremendous. Denver reported earning $266 million when it hosted the 2008 Democratic convention. That's a lot of money and a lot of jobs created at a time when we're working to get our economy back on track.

You can aid in our efforts to getting the convention to the Queen City by signing this petition or you can upload a video or personal story here stating why you think the Democratic National Convention should come to North Carolina.

Elaine Marshall is our Nominee to Beat Richard Burr!

Secretary of State Elaine Marshall became the Democratic nominee in the U.S. Senate and is already showing what a formidable candidate she will be in November against Richard Burr.  Several polls have shown the race in a dead-heat, and it has become one of the best chances - if not the best chance - for Democrats to pick up a Senate seat anywhere in the country.

For more information about Elaine Marshall or to find out how you can volunteer to help her win this November, please click here to visit her website.
